Scientific research work

The main direction of research activities of the department are diagnosis and treatment of multiple, combined injuries and their complications of bones and joints. Endoprosthetics of large joints, prevention of thromboembolic complications in surgery. The choice of the topic is conditioned by the requirements of practical public health and the constant increase in the frequency of various types of injuries.

1. Scientific and technical program. The Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics is actively conducting research aimed at developing and implementing new prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with pathology of large joints. Namely, two research projects. 2016. an application was submitted for 2 scientific projects for the conduct of state scientific and technical expertise in accordance with the tender documentation for the following topic:

1) “Biomedical research of patients after total hip and knee joint in order to identify risk factors for complications and decreased economic costs for the audit of operations”;

2) “Biomedical research functions and quality of life of elderly patients with fractures of the proximal femur with the introduction of the European treatment algorithm.”

2. Publications. Employees of the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics are actively published in scientific publications, in authoritative medical journals of international and republican significance. So in 2016 the staff of the department published 36 articles, and in 2017 published 21 articles.

3. Reports. Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics regularly hold scientific-practical conference with international participation, together with RK practical healthcare institutions and clinical departments of universities of Kazakhstan on “Diagnosis and treatment of bone disease of the joints.” Employees of the department annually actively make presentations in various international and republican scientific-practical conferences on topical issues of Traumatology and Orthopedics. Published in the theses.

4. Seminars. Employees of the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics actively participate in seminars held at the KazNMU to improve teaching activities.

5. Master classes. The Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics actively cooperate with foreign departments of universities. Every year on the basis of State Clinical Hospital No. 4 of Almaty, workshops and lectures by foreign professors for physicians of practical public health are held.

6. Visiting professor. Within the framework of visiting-professors, the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics was invited and a cooperation agreement was drawn up with the Kaunas University.
