From November 4 to 10, 2019, the professor of the Lithuanian University of Medical Sciences and the Institute of Biological Systems and Genetic Research, Dr. Laimutis Kucinskas visited the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics. During this mission, Dr. Laimutis Kucinskas gave short lectures and conducted practical classes in the discipline “Cytology” for first-year students of the specialties GM and Pediatrics. He conducted a introduction course and a seminar for teachers of the department on their research and on the methods of teaching students in laboratory studies. The visit of Dr. Laimutis Kucinskas was very useful for both students and teachers, as we exchanged teaching experiences, our knowledge and good practice.

According to the program of academic mobility in the period from 23 to 27 November 2020 Head of the Department Kudiyarova Zh.S. and assistant of the department Kenzheeva Zh.K. participated in online lectures and seminars provided by colleagues from the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LUHS) in Kaunas, Lithuania.
Our students participated in the international student Olympiad.
On December 25, 2020, the International Student Subject Online Olympiad “From the Teachings of Abu Ali ibn Sino – to the Third Renaissance” was held at the Bukhara State Medical Institute. The Olympiad was held in 36 sections. A student of the MMF, group GM19-25, Berkinbaeva Marzhan won a prize in the section “Medical biology. General genetics ”, and was awarded the II degree diploma. Leader – Master of Biological Sciences, Assistant of the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics Kenzheeva Zh.K. All other participating students received certificates.

Visiting. From September 27 to October 8, 2021, the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics hosted a visit of Doctor of Biology, Professor Orhan Zhanbolat, Director of the Center for Applied and Research Sciences of Gazi University in the field of natural sciences from the Republic of Turkey.

The purpose of his stay was to improve the skills of KazNMU staff, train undergraduates, senior students. Lectures and seminars were held on the following topics: General information about metabolism, Nucleotide metabolism, Clinical importance of nucleotide metabolism, Antimeabolites, Genetic information, (history of gene, structure of nucleic acids, replication, DNA damage and repair mechanisms, genetic code, mechanism of genetic diseases, transcription, post transcription, translation, post translation), Mitochondrial-electron transport chain-oxidafi phosphorylation, Mitochondrial diseases, Free radical metabolism and clinical importance, Carbohydrate metabolism. Master classes were held on the following topics: Mitochondrial diseases, Free radical metabolism and clinical importance, Carbohydrate metabolism. 10 teaching staff of KazNMU, 20 2nd year bachelors and 5 2nd year master students of Biomedicine participated from KazNMU.

Conference. On December 1-2, 2021, the staff of the department Moldakaryzova A.Zh. and Kenzheeva Zh.K. took part in an international conference at Gazi University (Ankara, Türkiye). They presented reports: Moldakaryzova A.Zh. – “The hygienic evaluation of the impact of school supplies on the health of children at the primary school”; Kenzheeva Zh.K. – “New biotechnological methods for obtaining yogurt”.

Organization. On May 26-27, 2022, the department was the organizer of the 2nd International Congress of Health Sciences (Gazi University (Turkey, Ankara) and KazNMU named after S. D. Asfendiyarov).

Internship. Master of Biological Sciences, lecturer Kydyrbeva Asem is the head of the academic department of the Department of Medical Genetics and Molecular Biology. In the current 2022, from September 5 to September 16, she completed an internship in genetics at the Laboratory of Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics of the Jagiellonian Children’s University Hospital, organized as part of the Erasmus + Child CA project in Krakow, Poland.

 

Internship. Master of Natural Sciences, Assistant of the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics Kenzhebayeva Zhanerke completed an internship in molecular medicine from August 22 to September 21, 2022 at the University Hospital Jena (Jena, Germany) under the DAAD Exchange program. During the internship, practical and theoretical skills were honed in the laboratories of biochemistry, medical microbiology, molecular biology and experimental nephrology.

Conference. Assistants of the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics participated with reports at the forum of young scientists of the CIS countries “Science without Borders” in the period 01.11-03.11.2022 (RF, Nizhny Novgorod). Tassibekova Gauhar defended her report in the section “Healthy generation” with the topic: Hygienic assessment of the impact of school supplies on the health of schoolchildren in grades 3-4. Zhonderbek Zhazira also spoke in the section “Comfortable environment” with a report “Study of the antigenotoxic potential of infusions of medicinal plants of the Rosaceae family” and was awarded a diploma of the III degree.

Visiting. Prof. Dr. med. Mehmet Ali Yergun is the head of the Department of Medical Genetics at Gazi University, (Ankara, Turkey). Hirsch index -16. From November 14 to November 29, 2022, he lectured at the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics on the following topics: Chromosomal aberrations; Cancer diseases; Gene therapy. Moreover, he conducted seminars for teaching staff and students. According to the training plan, he showed master classes on methods that are used in molecular biology for teaching staff. The lecture was attended by 100 students of the 1st and 2nd year of the specialty General Medicine, and 21 teaching staff of the department. Lectures were held online every day.
